The II River Tour of Os Caneiros brings the Betanzos carnival to a close

A 21-gun salute is going to indicate the beginning of the II River Tour, which is the most important out of the two that are celebrated in Betanzos.

Most of those participing will arrive to the field on the banks of the river Mandeo on foot; but the fair, pagan and centenary, is an on-launch-party. Dozens of launches will go upriver from the port of Betanzos, particularly from the jetty of A Tolerancia walk, in A Ponte Vella, to its final destination, in Coirós. The boats are especially adapted, and many of them are altered old ships for leisure use, where tables occupy a distinguished place. On board, groups of friends and families taste the typical menu: pie, Spanish omelet, and breaded steak.

The musical animation will be met by the cultural association Charanga N.B.A, which will play along the tour on their own launch; and by the band D-Noche, which will be on the stage placed on the field of Os Caneiros from 5.00 PM. To the end of the party, the band Nova Imperial will perform on a box located at the Henry IV Square that faces Mandeo.

The program in A Ponte Vella will conclude with a fireworks show that will already begin at 10.00 PM. Then, the party will be moved towards Hermanos García Naveira Square, where the band Tekila will make the night festival more enjoyable, which will be the climax of the patron saint festivals of Betanzos.
