Big drops nestled in the lush valleys of the Mendo and Mandeo rivers characterize this municipality; where both fluvial (Chelo) and mountainous landscapes (A Espenuca) can be enjoyed.

Summary card:
Surface: 33.9 km².Population: 1,654 inhabitants (Source: INE - 2006.)
Parishes: Armea (San Vicente), Coirós (San Xulián), Colantres (San
Salvador), Santa María de Ois (Santa María), Santa Mariña de Lesa
(Santa Mariña), Santiago de Ois (Santiago.)What to see: The surroundings of Chelo, A Espenuca, Santa Aia and Santa María de Ois.
Festivals: Santa Mariña in Lesa on 18th of July; Santísimo Sacramento in Coirós on 4th of August; San Salvador in Colantres on 6th of August; and the pilgrimage of Santa María de Ois on the second Sunday of Easter.

: Its beautiful natural places are the main attraction of the municipality. Chelo,
which was declared picturesque place in 1971, is located in an
enlargement of the Mandeo river. Here, among a leafy vegetation, nature
lovers can go fishing, go for a swim, or hike along the route upstream.

The viewpoint in A Espenuca
mountain is another place that deserves admiration; although these
days, due to the height of its eucalyptus, the views are limited. Two
churches are found there: the Romanesque church of Santa Aia and the
new chapel of the Virgin, whose lintel supports elements from the castro culture.
The historical artistic heritage is completed with the Romanesque
churches of San Xulián de Coirós, the Divino Salvador de Collantres,
and Santa María and Santiago de Ois.
