Surroundings:
The attraction of this municipality of A Coruña lies in its rural landscapes, with small villages surrounded by
meadows and croplands. Visitors can go for interesting mountain walks in the serra da Cova da Serpe and its foothills, where they can go hunting. The pleasant banks of the Mendo and Mandeo rivers can also be admired. From a recreational point of view, the pilgrimage of Cova de Vales and the gastronomic festival of the cheese fair, which are both celebrated in May, are interesting. Regarding the artistic and historical heritage; the archaeologic remains that were found in O Castelo, in the parish of Foxados, stand out as jewels were found inside an enclosure from the castro culture.
