Irmáns García Naveira square

It is the nerve centre of the city of Betanzos, also know as Plaza del Campo because this is the place where the fair is celebrated since ancient times. It is dedicated to the distinguished benefactors of the city, the García Naveira brothers.

Description: Besides the buildings that contain the crowded arcades, the Convento de Santo Domingo and the building of the Arquivo do Reino de Galicia (Archive of the Kingdom of Galicia), which was at first a female orphan school, delimit this square. In the square, the French style house of Don Juan García Naveira, the statue dedicated to both brothers and the Fountain of Diana the Huntress, which is a copy of a fountain of Diana from the Versailles Palace in France, also stand out.
