Museum of As Mariñas

This museum is located in the cloister of the old convent of Santo Domingo. It collects a representative sample of archaelogical pieces, several collections of tapestries and laces, and a section dedicated to the Galician dress.

Description: It was founded in 1983, and shares facilities with the Library and the Local Archive.

Dont miss: Its medieval room with graves, coats of arms, and sculptures; the Rubens Apostolario room with twelve boards devoted to the Apostles; and its ethnographic room, devoted to the history of the region. It also houses the original Museum of the Galician Dress (Museo do Traxe Galego), which keeps clothing that includes from the typical mediaeval pilgrims clothes to Ladies incredible antique dresses.

Free access: Available for schoolchildrens groups, under-14s with a responsible person, holders of the youth card, people over 65 living in Betanzos, and contributors of the Yearbook of Betanzos.

Timetable: Monday - Friday from 10.00 to 14.00, and from 16.00 to 20.00. Saturday from 10.30 to 13.00. Sunday and holidays: closed.
