Church of San Pedro de Filgueira de Barranca

Predominantly baroque style church with Romanesque origin. It is located in a place with its very same name, in Cesuras. It preserves remains of a primitive building from the XII century.

Description: It has rectangular floor plan and it is structured in an only nave, which is topped by a rectangular apse. Its interior is sober and its walls are plastered. The exterior concentrated the decoration in the main facade.
Dont miss: Among the Romanesque remains from the XII century, an unique collection of corbels is preserved. There are two of them which stand out from the rest: a man and a woman squatting.

Surroundings: In the vicinity of the church, there is a beautiful granite cakvary sculpture or cruceiro. It has a 2-stair platform and a trapezoidal pedestal, whose obverse used to have an inscription that is currently illegible. A shaft, which is culminated by a molded capital, stands on this structure. And it is crowned by a latin cross with no images.
